POWER GRID Share Price Up by 5%; BSE POWER Index Up 2.6%

POWER GRID share price has zoomed 5% and is presently trading at Rs 166.

Meanwhile, the BSE POWER Index is at 1,656 (up 2.6%).

Among the top Gainers in the BSE POWER Index today is POWER GRID (up 5.3%).

Over the last one year, POWER GRID has moved down from Rs 205 to Rs 166, registering a loss of Rs 39 (down 19.2%).

On the other hand, the BSE POWER has moved down from 1,986 to 1,656, loss of 330 points (down 16.7%) during the last 12 months.

The top buzzing stocks among the BSE POWER Index stocks during this same period were GMR INFRA (up 24.6%), KEC INTERNATIONAL (up 16.4%) and ADANI TRANSMISSION (up 14.1%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 40,976 (up 1.0%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks today are POWER GRID (up 5.3%), NTPC (up 3.8%) and TATA STEEL (up 3.8%). Other gainers include INDUSIND BANK (up 3.1%) and ICICI BANK (up 3.0%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are NTPC and SBI.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 12,019 (up 1.0%). The top gainers in the NSE Nifty include POWER GRID (up 4.9%), TATA STEEL (up 3.7%) and NTPC (up 3.5%). Other gainers include HINDALCO (up 3.3%) and INDUSIND BANK (up 3.1%) are among the top gainers in NSE Nifty.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 38,964 to 40,976, registering a gain of 2,012 points (up 5.13%).

POWER GRID Financial Update...

POWER GRID net profit down at Rs 16 billion for the quarter ended June 2020, compared to a loss of Rs 23 billion a year ago. Net Sales declined 0.0% to Rs 89.9 billion during the period as against Rs 89.9 billion in April-June 2019.

For the year ended March 2019, POWER GRID reported 163.2% increase in net profit to Rs 125.6 billion compared to net profit of Rs 47.7 billion during FY18.

Revenue of the company grew 17.0% to Rs 351 billion during FY19.

The current Price to earnings ratio of POWER GRID, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 10.5x.
