Bike taxi scam: One more held

NOIDA: The Special Task Force and the Economic Offences Wing have made the 15th arrest in the bike taxi fraud case.
The accused, Lalit Kumar (32), who was a director at Garvit Innovative Promoters, was arrested from near Shiv Nadar University in Dadri around 10.30 pm on Monday.
He got associated with the firm at the end of 2017 and was enrolled as a director. Soon after the scam came to light, he resigned. There are 56 cases lodged against Kumar and a reward of Rs 50,000 had been announced. SP, EOW, Ram Suresh Singh said Kumar was assigned with the task of luring investors and was instrumental in creating a huge client base. “He is a good speaker and would conduct seminars and give speeches about his own experience with the firm and meet the targets set for him,” he said.
Kumar is from Meerut’s Mawana and has a BSc (agriculture) degree, police said.
A statement from STF said he was waiting for someone when he was caught.
Eight accused are on the run.
