nCoV:  2,464 fresh cases, recovery rate crosses 92 pc in UP

Lucknow, Oct 21 (UNI)Altogether 2,464 fresh cases of Covid-19 were reported on Wednesday in Uttar Pradesh while 3,332 people have recovered.



Total Covid-19 cases in the state has reached 4,61,475 of which 4,25,356 have recovered and 29,364 were admitted to the hospitals or were in home isolation getting treatment.

The recovery percentage in the state has also increased to 92.17 per cent.

A total of 6,755 people lost their lives to the lethal virus with 41 fresh fatalities in the last 24 hours.

State Additional Chief Secretary, Health, Amit Mohan Prasad said, here on Wednesday that the number of active patients were decreasing day by day and the decrease of 57 per cent was witnessed since active cases peak on September 17.

He said that age wise the positivity rate was 13.78 per cent in the age group of 0 to 20 years, 47.57 per cent between 21 to 40 yrs, 29.05 per cent between 41 to 60 years and 9.60 per cent in the age group of above 60 years. The total male infected with the virus in the state was 67.9 per cent and female 32.1 per cent.

However, in the deaths, above 60 years contributed 45 per cent and in the age group of 41 to 60 years it was around 40 per cent.

On Tuesday, a total of 1,47,012 samples were tested and the total Covid tests in the state has gone up to a record 1,34,45,758.

Mr Prasad said there are 13,499 positive asymptomatic patients in home isolation while 2514 patients were admitted to private hospitals. Rest patients are recovering in the government run Covid hospitals. Till date, 2,58,250 positive patients have preferred for home isolation in which 2,44,751 have recovered.



Over 4.28 lakh surveillance teams have visited 1,44,752 areas of the state and visited 2.75 crore houses to check the health of over 13.55 crore people.
