Mamelodi Sundowns forward Kermit Erasmus hopes to stay fit this season as he aims to score 30 goals for his new team.
The 30-year-old left Cape Town City at the end of last season after scoring 14 goals in 27 games across all competitions, and now the Bafana Bafana star is looking to take his game to the next level at Masandawana.
Erasmus missed a few games for City last campaign due to injury, and he is determined to avoid further niggles at Sundowns in order to make a big impact for the defending DStv Premiership champions.
"For me personally, it’s to stay injury-free. That is the most important thing to me, if I can do that then I am sure we can achieve a lot as a team," he told the club's official website.
"I also came here to win trophies, you know, compete with the best teams on the continent. I also want to break the record of being the top goal scorer by trying to score thirty goals.
"When I look at the quality of players that are around me, the likes of KK, Jali, Mshishi, George, Sirino, I believe that the goal of twenty to thirty goals is achievable, and if I can stay injury-free, then why not?"
Erasmus made his debut for the Brazilians in their 1-0 MTN8 quarter final defeat to Bloemfontein Celtic on Sunday.
The Brazilians kick-start their Premiership title defence against rivals Kaizer Chiefs on Saturday with Erasmus hoping to get the nod for a starting berth.
Kick-off is at 15:30.
