IPL 2020: Siraj, Chahal magic restrict KKR at mere 84/8

Abu Dhabi, Oct 21 (UNI) Mohammed Siraj's excellent bowling spell 3/8, Yuzvendra Chahal 2/15 demolished KKR batting line-up restricting them at a mere 84/8 in 20 overs in the 39th match of the IPL at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium, here on Wednesday.

Skipper Morgan was top scorer for KKR 30 off 34 (3 fours, 1 six) while Gill, Tripathi, Rana, Karthik all failed to perform.

Ferguson remained not out for 19. Earlier, KKR won the toss and elected to bat first against RCB.

KKR openers Shubman Gill and Rahul Tripathi started on a shaky note as duo put up just 3 runs for first wicket.

Tripathi was scalped in 2nd over by Navdeep Saini at 1. After Tripathi's departure, KKR wickets started falling like a pack of cards with the likes of Nitish Ragusonna for a duck in 1.4 over, Shubman Gill for 1 in 3rd over, Tom Banton 10 off 8 balls (1 four, 1 six) in 3.3 over and Dinesh Karthik for 4 in 8.4 over.

KKRs first four wickets fell under just 14 runs while fifth wicket fell at 32 runs.

KKRs sixth wicket was of Pat Cummins in 13th over who scored 4 runs. They were now 6 down inside 40 runs.

Though there was some effort from Karthik and Morgan chipping in 18 runs for fifth wicket and another 17 runs for 7th wicket between Morgan and Kuldeep Yadav, but the team needed a longer partnerships whick they lacked from the start of the game.

Then next in line was skipper Morgan who became victim of Washington Sundar in 16th over. Morgan remained the top scorer for KKR from his 30 off 34 balls with 3 fours and a six.

When KKRs seventh wicket fell the score read at 57. Another 27 runs came from Ferguson and Kuldeep Yadav for 8th wicket.

However, KKRs 8th wicket fell in the last over of the last ball when Kuldeep Yadav was run out for 12 after striking one four.

Ferguson remained not out at 19 off 16 with one four.

For RCB Mohammed Siraj was the star performer for RCB as he picked three wickets in form of Tripathi, Rana and Banton while Yuzvendra Chahal 2/15 and Washington Sundar 1/14.
