Two-day special session of Chhattisgarh Assembly from Oct 27

Raipur, Oct 21 (UNI) The tussle between the Raj Bhavan and Bhupesh government in
Chhattisgarh over a special session of Chhattisgarh assembly for the last several days
came to an end after Governor Anusuiya Uikey approved the session today. With this the
two-day session will begin on October 27.
Chandrashekhar Gagrade, Principal Secretary of the Legislative Assembly said that a
notification for the two-day session had been issued with the approval by the Governor.
Legislative works will be dealt mainly in this session which will be conducted on October
27 and 28.
It has been planned on the advice of Congress President Sonia Gandhi to pass some bills in
the interests of the farmers and labourers in this special session of Chhattisgarh
Assembly in view of the circumstances cropping up due to central agriculture laws. In
Congress ruled Punjab similar bills were passed in Punjab Legislative Assembly.
Earlier the Governor had sought clarifications from the state government over the need for
convening special session after 58 days. The Governor sought to know from the state
government the emergency situation which compelled it to convene special session. Finally
the Governor granted permission to convene special session.
