Gang murder advocate, his kin over previous enmity in TN

Thanjavur, Oct 20 (UNI) In a gruesome incident, an advocate and his relative were hacked to death by a gang over previous enmity in two separate incidents at Kuppankulam village under the Nachiyarkoil police limits in this district on Monday night.
Police said the deceased were identified as P.Kamaraj (45), an advocate and his relative Sakthivel (45).
The gang waylaid Kamaraj, when he was going to his home on a two-wheeler with his father Parthiban (74) riding pillion and attacked him with sickles, killing him on the spot. However, the assailants spared his aged father.
The gang then went to the house of Kamaraj to murder his elder brother P.Kaviraj. On seeing the armed gang, Kaviraj managed to escape from the house. However, the gang hacked to death his relative Sakthivel and fled from the spot.
The bodies were removed to government hospital for post-mortem. Senior police officials held inquiries.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the double murder was fall out of enmity between Kamaraj and his close relative Rajavelu, who was also an advocate over a land dispute.
Rajavelu is a State-level office bearer of the Bahujan Samaj Party.
Two men involved in the double murder case surrendered to the police today.
Further investigation is on.
