Adastria Co Limited, a Japan-based retail company, reported 26.9 per cent decline in its sales to ¥79.6 billion (Japanese Yen) in its first half (H1) FY21, ended on August 31, 2020 compared to the sales of ¥108.9 billion in the same period previous fiscal. Company incurred a net loss of ¥2.4 billion compared to net income of ¥4.4 billion in H1 FY20.
Gross profit for the period was ¥42.2 billion (H1 FY20: ¥61.2 billion). Operating loss during H1 FY21 was ¥4.4 billion compared to operating profit of ¥7.1 billion in H1 FY20. Ordinary loss for the six months period was ¥2.7 billion compared to ordinary profit of ¥6.9 billion in first half of fiscal 2021.
Sales in Japan fell 27.1 per cent to ¥74.9 billion. While sales were down in Hong Kong (¥1.2 billion), South Korea (¥0.3 billion) and US (¥1.5 billion) because of Covid-19 during H1 FY21.
