KALYAN: The recovery rate of
Covid-19 patients in Kalyan-Dombivli, one of worst affected area in
MMR region after Mumbai, reaches above 92% which is highest in MMR region.
The recovery rate of patients here is higher than Mumbai, Thane and Navi Mumbai which is also badly affected with Covid-19 patients.
The Kalyan-Dombivli presently has total 47,888 patients out of which only 2750 active patients are left undergoing treatment.
The twin city once had become hotspot for Covid-10 cases as daily patients numbers had reached here between 600 to 700 in 18 lakh populated city that now has brought under control daily between daily 200 to 300 last few days.
The city on Sunday had reported 293 patients and nine death taking total numbers of patients 47,888 including 956 death so far. On Sunday, 396 patients also got cured making total recovered patients 44,182 making recovery rate of 92.26 %. An health officials said that since Kalyan-Dombivli is old city and very congested here patients number was higher but our
Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation, who has set up several jumbo treatment facilities have improved recovery rate and also mortality rate is below 2% in city.
Dr Pratibha Panpatil, Health officer of KDMC said, “We have increased our daily testing capacity from 2000 to now daily up to 2500 and our doubling rate of patients reached 117 while recovery rate is highest 92 % in entire MMR region”.
