Chennai, Oct 19 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Governor Banwarilal Purohit,
State Ministers, Leader of the Opposition and DMK President
M K Stalin, BJP State President L Murugan, leaders of various
political parties and film personalities today called on Chief
Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami and personally offered their
condolences for the death of his mother Thavusayammal, who
passed away in Salem last week.
Mr Purohit drove down to Mr Palaniswami's Greenways Road
residence in the city, offered his condolences and paid floral
tributes.
Earlier, Mr Stalin, accompanied by senior DMK leaders,
including Party General Secretary Duraimurugan, met the
Chief Minister at his residence and offered his condolences.
They also paid floral tributes to a decorated portrait of
Ms Thavusayammal.
Mr Murugan, Naam Tamizhar Party founder and director Seeman,
political party leaders, film actors, including Bhagyaraj, his wife
Poornima Bhagyaraj, Vijay Sethupathi, T Rajendar, Ramesh Khanna,
Ms Kutty Padmini, Chitra, Sangeetha and senior government officials
visited the residence of Mr Palaniswami and offered their condolences.
President Ram Nath Kovind, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union
Ministers and leaders of various political parties have already expressed
their condolences to Mr Palaniswami following the death of his mother.
