The Cheetahs have confirmed that scrumhalf and captain, Ruan Pienaar, could be back in action in December after he suffered a knee injury in their 19-17 win over the Bulls on Friday.
After visiting an orthopaedic surgeon on Monday, scans showed that Pienaar had suffered a medial collateral ligament (MCL) injury but that it wasn't as severe as first thought.
The Bloemfontein franchise said on Twitter that if Pienaar's recovery goes according to plan, he "is expected to be back on the field at the end of December."
The Cheetahs currently head the Super Rugby Unlocked log with nine points after winning their opening two games.
Ruan Pienaar sustained a knee (MCL) injury during the Vodacom Super Rugby Unlocked match against the Vodacom Bulls on Friday evening.
