Properties of 2 drug traffickers attached in Haryana, eyes on others

Chandigarh, Oct 19 (UNI) Haryana Police on one hand has been working tirelessly to completely crush the menace of drugs, while on the other hand it has also started the process of attaching the properties of drug mafias who are playing with the lives of the youth.
While giving this information here Monday, a spokesperson of Haryana Police said as part of a campaign against drug traffickers, the competent authority had given approval to attach properties worth lakhs of rupees of two drug peddlers who were arrested under NDPS Act in Fatehabad district.
He said the Sadar Ratia police had recovered over 9 quintals 72 kg of raw doda post (poppy husk) from a tractor during patrolling in November 2018. In this case, the police arrested two brothers Baljeet and Ranjit, residents of village Kalotha. A number of cases under NDPS Act were registered against them. Police had written a letter to the competent authority to attach their movable and immovable property under Section 68F of the NDPS Act. Now the authority accorded approval to attach their properties and the revenue department has also been informed in this regard.
He informed Baljit Singh's son Lakhwinder's 4 Kanal 5 Marla 9 Sarasai land and a tractor and 4 Kanal 5 Marla 9 Sarasai land belonging to Ranjit Singh's son will be attached. A total of 12 cases were registered against Baljit out of which 8 cases are under NDPS Act and he is lodged in Ajmer Jail. At the same time, 6 cases registered against Ranjit out of which 4 are under NDPS Act and he is lodged in Hisar Jail.
This action will also send a strong message among drug traffickers that their property can also be confiscated if they still do not refrain themselves from this illegal trade.
Meanwhile, DGP Haryana Mr Manoj Yadava said drug traffickers should desist from their ill deeds otherwise they will not be spared at any cost.
