Widespread rainfall predicted in Odisha & peninsular India except Kerala

New Delhi, Oct 19 (UNI) Due to a cyclonic circulation lies over central Bay of Bengal and neighbourhood and extends upto mid-tropospheric levels, a low pressure area is very likely to develop over the same region during next 24 hours causing widespread with isolated heavy falls and a moderate thunderstorm and lightning very likely over Odisha and peninsular India except Kerala during next four days.
“An east-west trough runs roughly along 14°N across peninsular India and cyclonic circulation over central Bay of Bengal between 1.5 km & 5.8 km above mean sea level tilting southwards with height and this trough very likely to persist over same region during next three –four days, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.
It also added that under the influence of these systems, a fairly widespread to widespread rainfall with isolated heavy falls and heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places also very likely over Coastal Andhra Pradesh on October 20, 21, over Odisha on 21 and over Tamilnadu on 19.
According to IMD, a well marked low pressure area lies over westcentral Arabian Sea and neighbourhood that will cause a strong wind with a speed reaching 40-50 kmph are very likely over westcentral and adjoining northwest Arabian Sea during next 24 hours. Fishermen are advised not to venture into these areas, the national weather bureau said.
