BHOPAL: City’s much awaited three development projects will be opened for public use shortly. Rani Kamlapati arch bridge, Smart Road and Boulevard Street that started three years back and will cost nearly Rs 100 crore, will be inaugurated by November end.
Bhopal Smart City Development Corporation Limited (BSCDCL) is developing projects and due to disputes like rehabilitation of those living around development sites, the projects remained incomplete. The BSCDCL has claimed to have settled the disputes including legal battle against the smart road.
Once developed, the smart road and Boulevard streets will be first roads in the city to have facilities like underground duct and utility tunnels. Besides, roads will have bicycle track, space for two-wheelers and four-wheelers. Rani Kamlapati arch bridge, which will connect old Bhopal with new Bhopal is being developed at a cost of Rs 40 crore. It will relieve traffic jam around Retghat and will reduce distance between old and new Bhopal.
The 2.5 kilometre-long boulevard street, between Platinum plaza and Jawahar Chowk, will cost Rs 30 crore. BSCDCL official Nitin Dave said work at smart road and Boulevard street are nearing completion. “We will get these projects inaugurated by next month,” he added.
