COVID: J&K reports 427 new cases, nine deaths

COVID: J&K reports 427 new cases, nine deaths

Jammu, Oct 19 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Government on Monday informed that 427 new positive cases of novel Coronavirus (169 from Jammu division and 258 from Kashmir division), have been reported thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 88369.

Also 09 COVID-19 deaths have been reported; 03 from Jammu division and 06 from Kashmir Division.

Moreover, 781 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 417 from Jammu Division and 364 from Kashmir Division.

According to the daily Media Bulletin on novel Coronavirus (Covid-19), out of 88369 positive cases, 8314 are Active Positive, 78667 have recovered and 1388 have died; 460 in Jammu division and 928 in Kashmir division.

The Bulletin further said that out of 2023294 test results available, 1934925 samples have been tested as negative till October 19.

Till date 629710 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 21927 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 8314 in isolation and 52205 in home surveillance. Besides, 545876 persons have completed their surveillance period.

Bhopal, Oct 19 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan expressed condolences on Monday over the death of historian RL Shukla – the sire of Principal Secretary (Parliamentary Affairs) Pankaj Rag.
“I pray for peace to the departed soul and fortitude to the grieving household for bearing the loss,” the senior politician averred in a message.

Bhopal, Oct 19 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan expressed grief on Monday over the demise of senior journalist Ajit Verma who was a resident of the cantonment town Jabalpur.
“His output in various newspapers both informed and enlightened readers. He was also associated with Fourth Estate organisations and significantly contributed vis-à-vis construction of the Patrakar Bhavan. I pray for peace to the departed soul and fortitude to the bereaved family for bearing the sorrow,” the senior politician averred in a message.
