Odisha Plus II admission process concluded on Saturday

BHUBANESWAR: Plus II admission process was completed on Saturday. Final admission (spot admission) was conducted on Friday after first and second selection admission is over recently.
Around 3.84 lakh students had applied for admission this year for 4, 53, 643 seats in 2028 higher secondary schools across Odisha. "We will update admission data of the students who took admission in the Spot Selection by the higher secondary schools in the e-Space immediately," said Brundaban Behera, director of higher secondary education.
Behera said the date for starting of physical classes in schools is yet to be announced. "The admission is over. We will update the data of the students. School and mass education department will take decision regarding classes in campuses," he added.
The directorate of higher secondary education under the state’s school and mass education department had invited online applications from students starting from August 21. First merit list was published on September 18, while the merit list of second selection was announced on October 5. Spot selection merit list was published on October 15 for admission on the very next day.
As the admission process for Plus II first year is completed, the government is planning to start online classes for the new entrants by November. Chances of students attending physical classrooms on the campuses may take time, sources said.
The school and mass education department have already started online classes for plus II second year students via conference apps. Notes are being shared with students via WhatsApp and emails. It has started airing video lectures in Doordarshan channel for science and students of other stream. It will also start online classes for plus II first year students soon.
