Indore: BJP leader Jagmohan Verma, who submitted his resignation and had filed nomination as Shiv Sena candidate from Sanwer Assembly seat, on Sunday announced his withdrawal from the election after meeting MLA Ramesh Mendola and MLA Akash Vijayvargiya.

“There was some issue which made me furious so I crossed over to Shiv Sena. However, the party leaders told me that the issue will be resolved so I am back in my party,” he told reporters.

After district administration cracked down on the illegal practice of “Khadi-Karai” at mandis, Verma had resigned from BJP last Monday.

As he was associated with saffron brigade for the last 40 years, many senior leaders reached his house to convince him to take his resignation back.

But he did not listen to them and instead filed nomination as Shiv Sena candidate from Sanwer constituency. However, the party leaders did not give up on him.

Mendola, Akash and senior leader Umesh Sharma again reached Verma’s house and convinced him to withdraw his nomination papers and return to BJP.

This time, they received success. Verma, however, is learnt to have given 24 hours to the government to allow the Khadi Karai system in Indore.

Khadi-Karai system is a nexus of labourers. Under the system, only a designated labourer would upload and unload goods from trucks on the rate fixed by their association.
