Maha BJP's Kisan Morcha chief takes swipe at CM

Aurangabad, Maharashtra, Oct 17 (UNI) Maharashtra BJP's Kisan Morcha president Anil Bonde on Saturday took aim at Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and his cabinet colleagues for not coming to the rescue of the wet drought affected farmers in the state and quipped everyone is with their families for 'My Family is My Responsibility'.
Addressing a press conference here after visiting affected villages in Paithan taluka of the district, the former Agriculture minister said all the standing crops were washed out due to recent heavy rains and remarked that the present situation is worst.

He said the Shiv Sena-led MVA government has so far only ordered 'panchanama' of damaged crops instead of announcing compensation to affected farmers.

Taking a potshot at the current Chief Minister, the BJP leader said that it seems Mr Thackeray has forgotten his old demand of compensation for affected farmers of the state when he was not the chief minister.
"Our demand is to give financial assistance of Rs 25,000 and Rs 50,000 per hectares to rain-hit farmers, which was demanded by Mr Thackeray when BJP was in power," he stressed.
Talking about the state government ordering inquiry into the Jalayukt Shivar scheme based on the Comptroller and Auditor-General's report, Mr Bonde remarked that, "We are ready to face the inquiry and I will myself visit with SIT team across the state to see works of the Jalayukt Shivar.
He demanded that SIT should enquire the farmers of the state whether they benefitted or not by the Jalayukt Shivar scheme and also see for themselves whether the water storage capacity has been increased or not, he added.
