73 fined for violating prohibitory order in Nashik

Nashik, Oct 17 (UNI) A court here has recently imposed a collective fine of Rs 47,300 on 73 people under the Maharashtra Police Act for allegedly violating the prohibitory order issued during the lockdown as a preventive measure amidst corona pandemic.
The lockdown came into force on March 21 against the backdrop of corona. Though the state government later gradually relaxed the lockdown, it however ordered implementation of some precautionary measures to prevent the spread of corona.
Accordingly, police have launched a crackdown on violators of the order under the communicable diseases and disaster management laws. Thus, 73 violators from Nashik have been fined Rs 47,300.
Of total violators, 59 persons were fined Rs 700 each and 14 others Rs 400 each, an official release said here on Saturday.

Mumbai, Oct 17 (UNI) Coming down heavily on the Opposition BJP leaders for insulting Maharashtra and trying to defame the ruling Maha Vikas Aghadi government, the Congress, one of the constituents of MVA, on Saturday sought action against BJP's Atul Bhatkhalkar for demanding to close down all the 'madrassas' in the state and asked whether Prime Minister Narendra Modi government's slogan of "Sabka Saath, Sabka Vishwas" was just a poll plank.
Talking to reporters here, Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee general secretary and spokesperson Sachin Sawant referred to Mr Bhatkhalkar's demand of closing down all the 'madrassas' in the state and said that he has gone against the Modi government's slogan of "Sabka Vishwas".
