The global tally of coronavirus cases stands at 39,938,565
Coronavirus update: With a spike of 61,871 new Covid-19 cases and 1,033 deaths in last 24 hours, India's coronavirus count reached 74,94,552 on Sunday. Country's Covid-19 recovery rate is presently at 88.03 per cent, according to the Health Ministry.

India is the second worst-hit nation in terms of Covid-19 cases after the US, while it is in the third spot in terms of fatalities globally after the US and Brazil. More than 100,000 people in the country have died from the coronavirus infection so far. There are 784,264 active cases of coronavirus infection in the country. Maharashtra continues to remain the worst-affected state with 15,86,321 Covid-19 positive cases till now. 

As India has scaled up its Covid-19 testing capacity from one in January to over 93.2 million at present, the positivity rate has fallen below 8 per cent, the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) on Sunday.

World coronavirus update: The global tally of coronavirus cases stands at 39,938,565. While 29,880,480 have recovered, 1,114,191 have died so far. The US, the worst-hit country, has 8,342,665 cases. It is followed by India, which has 7,492,727 cases, Brazil (5,224,362) and Russia (1,384,235).
