Hyderabad, Oct 18 (UNI) The COVID-19 caseload in Telangana stands at 2,22,111 so far with the state recording 1,436 fresh infection cases till 2000 hours on Saturday
The overall COVID-19 deaths in the state have risen to 1,271 as six more patients had succumbed to the deadly virus in the last 24 hours with a case fatality rate of 0.57 per cent while the national mortality rate was 1.5 per cent, according to a state health department bulletin on Sunday.
In all, 2,154 patients had recovered from coronavirus between Friday and Saturday pushing the cumulative number of recoveries in the state to 1,98,790 constituting a recovery rate of 89.5 per cent as against the countrywide recovery rate of 88 per cent.
A total of 41,043 samples were tested during the last 24 hours to detect the contagious virus and of them, the results of 965 swab samples were pending.
Since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, more than 38.30 lakh COVID-19 tests had been conducted in the state till date.
The number of active cases of coronavirus in the state now stands at 22,050, the bulletin said.
The three districts--the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, Rangareddy and Medchal--continued to be the top contributors of the positive cases by recording 249,110 and 105 fresh cases respectively in the last 24 hours.
The remaining positive cases of the day were registered by other districts, the bulletin added.
