GREATER NOIDA: At least seven people were allegedly duped by a disabled person who posed as a doctor and promised jobs at the Employees State Insurance Corporation (ESIC). The accused, who claimed to be Dr SK Gupta and a former employee of ESIC, had told the targets that he could get them a job using his connections.
Complainants said that they were offered jobs at “Gupta Clinic” in Alpha II sector in June . Ajit Kumar (23), a complainant, said, “He charged between Rs 1.5 lakh and Rs 4 lakh from at least seven people for getting them jobs,” he said.
Ajit added that when the targets discussed the issue among themselves, they realised that the accused had already duped many. They complained to the DM office on September 17 after which an FIR was lodged with the Beta II police station. However, the accused vacated the clinic on September 15 and is on the run since then.
