MUMBAI: Mumbai airport has launched an express Covid-19 RT-PCR test facility for passengers departing from the airport and for non-passengers visiting the airport to drop off/receive family and friends, a Mumbai International Airport Ltd (MIAL) spokesperson said on Saturday. The airport had last month started such a facility for international transit passengers.
Departing passengers can undergo the test at the airport before travelling to their destination and produce their negative test report to skip institutional quarantine at their destination, MIAL said.
“The facility is on the curbside of Level 4 at Terminal 2 for departing passengers; non-passengers can opt for the test too. Departing passengers can make an online booking through the test feature available on www.csmia.aero or register at the help desk at departures to enrol for RT-PCR test before entering the terminal and receive a digital copy of the test report mailed directly or the hard copy can be collected within eight hours, said MIAL adding that passengers departing from the airport are encouraged to arrive at the terminal 8-12 hours before scheduled departure. .
