Chirag loses cool over "votekatwa" remark of BJP leaders for LJP

Chirag loses cool over "votekatwa" remark of BJP leaders for LJP

Patna, Oct 18 (UNI) LJP president Chirag Paswan today came down heavily on BJP leaders for branding his party as 'votekatwa' (vote-cutter) in ongoing campaign for Bihar Assembly Elections, saying BJP leaders were making such statements under pressure of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.

Mr Paswan said it was painful for him to learn that BJP leaders had dubbed LJP as 'votekatwa' (creating division in votes) in ongoing Bihar Assembly Elections. BJP leaders were making such statements under the pressure of Chief Minister Mr Kumar, he added.

" BJP leaders had started making such statements forgetting their relations with his father Ram Vilas Paswan who died recently," LJP president lamented.

Chief Nitish Kumar had been pursuing politics of pressure since long, he added.

Mr Paswan asked BJP leaders why they had taken support of LJP in 2014 Lok Sabha Elections, 2015 Bihar Assembly Elections and 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi and Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar had described LJP as 'votekatwa' party in ongoing Bihar Assembly elections.

Mr Modi during interaction with media persons had recently dubbed LJP as 'votekatwa' when asked about its effect in ongoing Bihar Assembly Elections.

LJP has fielded its candidates against JD(U) in ongoing Bihar Assembly Elections. Mr Paswan had declared that he was not prepared to accept Mr Nitish Kumar as CM.

His party would not allow Mr Nitish Kumar to become CM again, he had vowed recently.
