The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has tied up with IIT Delhi and DRDO to create a group of officers working towards finding technical solutions to the force's campaign-related challenges. There are 500 officers and sub-officers in the force with about 3.25 lakh personnel who have professional degrees in engineering and technology.

After the signing of the MoU between CRPF, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi, and Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO), these officers will be able to do short-term special courses in these institutes and also do research work.

A CRPF spokesperson said, 40 CRPF engineering graduate officers and a batch of subordinate officers will undertake certificate courses of three to six months under the IIT-Delhi education program. This, he said, will give them the knowledge of special skills and the ability to meet complex challenges, meet campaign-related and strategic needs.
