New Delhi, Oct 17 (UNI) Rohan Jaitley, son of late Union Minister Arun Jaitley, was on Saturday elected unopposed president of the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA).
The final list of candidates was declared by the Election Returning Officer, after the deadline for withdrawal of candidature for candidates expired on Saturday.
Rohan, a lawyer by profession had filed his papers on the last day of nomations. He was elected after Sunil Kumar Goel, the only other candidate, withdrew his candidature for the president’s post.
For the rest of the office bearers, elections will be held on November 5,6 and 8.
Notably, late Arun Jaitley had also served as the president of DDCA between 1999 and 2013.
The DDCA was a headless body for nearly a year after Rajat Sharma resigned from the post. Since then a lot of office bearers have been suspended at different times by the High Court and DDCA ombudsman.
