Nagaland by-poll nominations found valid

Kohima, Oct 17 (UNI) The Sub-Divisional Officer (C) of Jakhama, who is also the Returning Officer, Ruopfukuotuo Noudi today made the scrutiny of nomination papers of the Southern Angami-1 Assembly Constituency in his Office chamber and found All the three candidates have qualified to contest for the forthcoming By-Election 2020 to be held on November 03 next.

Official sources said that the scrutiny was conducted in presence of General Observer, S. K. Pradhan, Secretary (Protocol) of the Home Department of Government of Sikkim and all other party agents. The qualified candidates include Medo Yhokha from Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP), Kikovi Kirha from Naga Peoples Front and Seyievilie Peter Zashumo as Independent candidate, sources said.

For the Pungro-Kiphire Assembly Constituency, all the five candidates filed their nominations papers, were also found valid. The candidates include Khaseo Anar (Congress), Lirimong Sangtam (BJP), K Shellumthong (Independent), T Yangseo Sangtam (Independent) and Kiusumew Yimchunger (Independent).
