Mumbai, Oct 17 (UNI) The Sensex slumped by 526.51 points or 1.29 pc to settle at 39,982.98 in a volatile trading week under review on weak global cues.
Rising coronavirus infections in parts of Europe and uncertainties over the stimulus package in the US impacted sentiment.
Nifty dropped 151.75 points or 1.27 per cent to settle at 11,762.45.
The BSE Mid-Cap slipped 73.99 or 0.50 pc to settle at 14,621.31. BSE Small-Cap index shed 120.20 points or 0.81 pc to settle at 14,786.56.
On Monday, the Sensex, gained 84.31 points to settle at 40,593.80. Nifty added 16.75 points to settle at 11,930.95.
On Tuesday, the Sensex, rose 31.71 points to settle at 40,625.51. Nifty added 3.55 points to settle at 11,934.50.
On Wednesday, it added 169.23 points to settle at 40,794.74. Nifty rose 36.55 points to settle at 11,971.05.
On Thursday the Sensex was crashed by 1,066.33 points to settle at 39,728.41. Nifty tumbled 290.70 points to settle q at 11,680.35.
On Friday, breaking its winning streak of last ten sessions, it advanced 254.57 points to settle at 39,982.98. Nifty gained 82.10 points to settle at 11,762.45.
