Manipur police, health workers conduct Covid awareness campaign

Imphal, Oct 17 (UNI) Manipur police personnel, health frontline workers today carried out Covid awareness campaign to make people aware about Covid 19.

Those participating in the event said the focus is on appropriate behaviour awareness.

Rallies were taken out by members of RIMS Manipur Security Service, Indian Red Cross Society, Uripok Apunba Lup, United Club of Lamphel and police.

People of Imphal West and Imphal East were informed that lockdown will start today at 1800 hours as local transmission was reported and every day about 200 to 300 cases were increasing in the state.

Vehicles with banners and PA system were used to make the awareness campaign effective and poster campaign and distribution of face masks were also part of the awareness rally. The campaign will continue for some days. Police said movement will be restricted in parts of the city areas . Public was urged to adhere to containment area norms. Action will be taken up against violators under the provisions of IPC, Manipur Epidemic Diseases (Enforcement of COVID -19 Guidelines) Regulations, 2020 police said.

Police said as part of "Jan Andolan- Covid Appropriate Behaviour" rallies, awareness campaign will be carried out throughout the state.
