Russian Covid vaccine Sputnik V to undergo trials in India

Dr. Reddy's Laboratories has now received the Drug Control General of India (DCGI) nod to conduct an adaptive Phase 2/3 human clinical trial for the Russian vaccine in India. The Phase 2/3 trial will be a multi-center and randomized controlled study, which will include safety and immunogenicity study.

IndiGo to charge Rs 100 for check-in at airport counters

The airline has become to first Indian carrier to introduce such a fee in a bid to get more passengers to do web check-in for a contactless travel experience. With India’s biggest airline (in terms of domestic market share) levying this fee, most other carriers could follow suit soon.

Suspect in Paris teacher's beheading was Chechen teen

A suspect shot dead by police after the gruesome beheading of a history teacher in an attack near Paris on Friday was an 18-year-old Chechen, police said. France's anti-terrorism prosecutor's office said that authorities investigating the killing have also arrested nine suspects, including the grandparents, parents and 17-year-old brother of the attacker.

Hope rises for Jet Airways to take wings again

The grounded airline’s committee of creditors has approved a revival plan submitted by a consortium of London-based Kalrock Capital and UAE businessman Murari Lal Jalan. The airline may fly by mid next year if this JV is able to raise the required funds through a mix of measures like infusing equity; selling 6 old planes owned by Jet to get a few new ones and offering equity to lenders.
