KALYAN: The Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation on Friday issued order allowing shops in the city to function for full working hours till 9pm while hotel and food courts are allowed to operate till 10 pm.
The new circular was issued by KDMC commissioner Dr Vijay Surywanshi on Friday. The circular states that in the hotspot areas, restrictions will be continued and essential services shops will be allowed to open till 7pm.
The decision has brought happiness amongst shopkeepers and hotel industry people from the city who were demanding KDMC to increase the timings.
Vimal Thakkar, a shopkeeper from Kalyan told TOI, "We welcome KDMC's move of increasing timing for shops in city as it will help us to overcome from losses we have suffered during the lockdown."
