KALYAN: A 38-year-old chartered accountant who recently went missing after he was grilled in a multi-crore scam was found dead on a railway track near Titwala railway station.
Sagar Deshpande was residing with his parents and sister in Thane. He went missing after he left house on October 11 in his car saying he is going to Titwala for some work but did not return back home. Police sources said when he did not return back, his father Suhas filed a missing case with Naupada police station in Thane.
The Kalyan railway police meanwhile said his body was found next day on October 12 at 6.30am on a railway track between Titwala and Khadavali railway station as unidentified body. The GRP later shared information about description of unidentified death body on their police personnel groups looking which Naupada police on Saturday identified him as Sagar Deshpande.
Sagar, worked with the M/s Cox & Kings (India) Ltd (CNK) for 10 years.
A source from EOW said “He was general manager (Accounts) in CNK. His name was not mentioned as an accused in the FIR we are probing. He had come to our office and we had asked him to come with certain documents related to the investigation. He was supposed to come on October 13 but he didn’t come,”.
While Deshpande’s (38) name was not in the FIR as an accused, his name was mentioned among the people responsible for a cheating case where IndusInd bank had given a complaint to the EOW.
