Pune, Oct 17 (UNI) Rain with isolated heavy falls is likely over Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Saurashtra, Kutch, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Telangana and north Tamil Nadu during next 24 hours, forecast the India Meteorological Department here today.
It further said that squally wind (with speed reaching up to 45-55 km per hour and gusting up to 65 km per hour) is likely to prevail over eastcentral and adjoining northeast Arabian Sea, and with 25-35 kmph & gusting up to 45 kmph along & off south Gujarat and north Maharashtra coast during the same period.
As a result, the sea will be rough to very rough over eastcentral and adjoining northeast Arabian Sea and rough along & off south Gujarat and north Maharashtra coast, hence fishermen have been advised not to venture into these areas during the same period.
Thunderstorm, accompanied with lightning, is very likely at isolated sectors over Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal, Manipur, Mizoram, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Telangana, Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal during the same period.
The South-west Monsoon had been weak over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, West Bengal, Sikkim, Jharkhand, Bihar, east Uttar Pradesh, west Madhya Pradesh, Marathwada, Rayalaseema and Tamil Nadu during past 24 hours.
Rain or thundershowers had pounded most areas in Andaman & Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep, as well at many tracts in Vidarbha, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Kerala during the same period.
They had battered a few divisions in Odisha, Saurashtra, Kutch, Konkan, Goa, Telangana and coastal Karnataka during the same period.
Isolated zones in Assam, Meghalaya, Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, east Rajasthan, east & west Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat Region, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu and south Interior Karnataka were lashed by rain during the same period.
Thunderstorm had occurred at isolated quarters over Odisha, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam during the same period.
Dry weather prevailed over Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh and west Rajasthan during the same period.
In the regions from where the South-west Monsoon had withdrawn, the day temperatures were markedly below normal in some parts of Himachal Pradesh and Punjab, while appreciably below par in some corners of east Uttar Pradesh.
They were below norm in some sites of west Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Saurashtra and Kutch, and normal over the rest of the country.
The highest maximum temperature of 38.4 degree Celsius was recorded at Barmer (west Rajasthan).
Night temperatures were markedly above normal in some locales of Rajasthan and Gujarat Region.
They were appreciably above par in some segments of east Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Saurashtra, Kutch and in remaining parts of east Rajasthan.
They were appreciably below norm in some nooks of west Uttar Pradesh, and normal over rest parts of the country.
The lowest minimum temperature of 14.7 degree Celsius was recorded at Hissar (Haryana).
