Ahmedabad: Unhappy with sister's love marriage, brother kidnaps her

AHMEDABAD: Hemendra Patidar, 25, of Vastral has lodged a complaint at Ramol police station on Thursday that his brother-in-law Mukesh Patidar and his friend Rooplal Patel kidnapped his wife Nisha with whom he had a love marriage. He has also alleged that he was slapped by his brother-in-law and was beaten by a baseball bat by Rooplal Patel.
Inspector of Ramol police station KS Dave said that they have lodged complaint of kidnapping and assault against the accused and are hunting for them.
According to the complaint lodged by Patidar who works in a travel complaint and belongs to Dungarpur in Rajasthan had a love marriage with Nisha on August 4, 2020 at Dungarpur and then had come to Ahmedabad to live in a rented house in Vastral.
According to the FIR, on October 14, 2020 at about 9pm three persons came in a car and gave them a scooter registration number and said that the scooter had met with an accident and that they will have to come with them.
As the scooter belonged to Patidar and at that time his friend had taken the scooter from him, all three- Patidar, his wife Nisha and his sister's 5-year-old son who was with them at that time sat in the car.
The FIR mentions that they took them on Expressway and stopped under an over bridge where one another car was waiting for them.
"Patidar's brother-in-law Mukesh and his friend Rooplal came out of the car and dragged Nisha out of the other car and made her sit forcibly in their car. Mukesh then slapped Patidar and Rooplal hit him with a baseball bat and threatened him with dire consequences if he tries to meet Nisha again" said a police source.
Inspector Dave said that according to the FIR, Mukesh along with Rooplal and Nisha drove away in their car and the Patidar and his sister's son were dropped near Bakrol toll Plaza.
Patidar has mentioned in the FIR that he tried to find his wife but both Mukesh and Rooplal houses were found locked. He then lodged a complaint on October 15. 2020 with Ramol police station.
