Celebrity inspired statement earrings to wear this festive season

The festive season is almost here and that calls for endless celebrations. It can be overwhelming to plan a head-to-toe look, we know! Instead of going all out with heavy ensembles, give your ethnic attire a fresh new take with investment-worthy earrings. Whether you are wearing a sari or lehenga, statement earrings can get you festive-ready in no time. To give you some inspiration, we picked out some of the most stylish earrings worn by Bollywood divas. Here's how you can make experiment with earrings this festive season:
Statement chandbaali
This earring trend is undeniably one style that most B-town divas love. We loved how Anushka Sharma styled her purple kurta with a pair of chandbaali earrings by Tribe Amrapali. The earrings inspired by Mughal art featured three crescent moons and traditional jadau work, making this piece investment-worthy.

Akanksha Arora, CEO of Tribe Amrapali feels this style of earring can instantly make an impact. "Long chandbalis are single statement pieces which would instantly make you festive ready. Also, with this accessory, one doesn't have to wear a lot of jewellery."
Modern jhumkas
This earring design traces back to traditional temple jewellery and the domes of the temple. Now, a popular pick among brides and women, this accessory has got a modern makeover which flatters every style.

Take a cue from Alia Bhatt, who picked a gorgeous pair of jhumkas by AKM Mehrasons to go with her floor-length anarkali.

Pooja Uppal Mehra of AKM Mehrasons feels this piece is a great pick for day festivities. "The pastel enamel contemporary jadau polki earrings can bring out the right amount of ethnic and sparkle to your look. The pastel enamel makes them an ideal accessory for a day time affair."

For a fun look in Navratras, Akanksha suggests experimenting with silver jhumkas. "You can really enjoy the swing they bring, play around and match them with your festive outfits," she adds.

Crafted earrings
While jhumkas have progressed into the mainstream accessory, temple jewellery still stands out, courtesy its age-old style. The artful pieces are one of the oldest jewellery crafts, which makes them stand out.

"Temple jewellery is traditional south Indian jewellery that was made in gold and silver, drawing inspiration from architecture and history of temples," explains Vandana Jagwani, Creative Director, Mahesh Notandass.

The fashion-forward star, Sonam Kapoor was seen wearing a pair of earrings by Mahesh Notandass with a bandhagala kurta. The pair of earrings featured intricate temple motifs crafted in gold.

For a festive look, Vandana is in favour of a head-turner look. "I personally love temple jewellery & I feel adding a pair of earrings or a choker will instantly elevate even a simple, solid kurta."

Traditional silver earrings
When it comes to earrings, the allure of silver never seems to fade. From Kareena Kapoor Khan to Vidya Balan, B-town ladies love to experiment with silver.

Kareena made a statement in a pair of silver earrings by Sangeeta Boochra which she teamed with a printed sari.

Abhineet Boochra, Director, Sangeeta Boochra calls this design a versatile piece. "It can be styled with a white or blue shirt and denim and also Indian wear. One can also style it further with a silver clutch and silver bangle."

Glam diamond earrings
When in doubt, go for a pair of sparkling earrings. Diamonds can instantly glam up any outfit. Be it a cocktail sari or an evening outfit, one can never go wrong with diamonds.

For a festive occasion, Mira Kapoor was seen wearing a cocktail sari, which she teamed up with a pair of diamond earrings by Irasva.
