Vijay Sethupathi should take right decision on acting in biopic of Muttiah Muralitharan, says TN Minister

Thoothukudi, Oct 16 (UNI) Minister for Information and Publicity, Kadambur C.Raju on Friday said actor Vijay Sethupathi should take a right decision on starring in the biopic of Sri Lankan cricketer Muttiah Muralitharan, considering his career and his future and also the popular sentiments of the people.
Talking to newsmen here on the sidelines of inaugurating a check dam project here, the Minister said it would be good for the actor’s career and future, if he respects the popular sentiments of the people from various walks of the life regarding acting in the movie ‘800’.
He said although acting in films is his personal wish, he should respect the sentiments of the people.
Answering a query, whether the government will make an appeal to the actor in this regard, Mr.Raju said he is the Minister associated with the film industry and hence his opinion is only that of the government’s.
When asked about reopening of cinema halls in the State, the Minister said the Chief Minister would take a decision in this connection within a week after consultations with theatre owners on issues such as ensuring physical distancing inside the cinema halls and disinfecting the premises after the end of every film show.
