DDMA issues guidelines for Durga Puja celebration

Itanagar, Oct 16 (UNI) The District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Itanagar Capital Region (ICR) has issued a set of guidelines for the forthcoming Durga Puja, in wake of the Covid-19 pandemic.
In an order, ICR DM-cum-Chairman of DDMA Komkar Dulom said Puja pandals will be allowed to be set up only in temples and no temporary pandals will be allowed to be erected on and by the side of any street.
No mela, food stall or stalls selling items etc will be permitted in and around the Puja pandals, it said.
The timing for the visit of the devotees shall strictly be from 0500 hours to 2100 hours and a maximum of 30 persons, including organisers and priests, shall be allowed to gather at any time in the Puja pandals. A maximum of 10 devotees shall be allowed to enter any Puja premises subject to there being sufficient space to maintain social distancing, said the order.
No immersion/procession will be allowed this time only a ritual could be performed in the temples, it said.
Organisers should not allow any person to enter the puja premises without face cover and washing of hands. It will be their responsibility to arrange facilities for hand washing/sanitisation at entrance, it added.
In case any person/visitor to pandals is suspected to be symptomatic with Covid-19, it will be the responsibility of the organisers to inform the nearest Government medical facility and arrange for shifting of such person to the nearest Covid treatment centre, said the order.
Any violation of the laid down guidelines will attract action as per legal provisions against the Puja committee/organiser or the individual/devotee as the case may be, it said.
As per the order, the guidelines issued also include ensuring fire safety measures, installation of CCTV cameras and to use loud in minimum audible limit.
