The result is not declared yet. The official website still says "soon". Students will have to wait a little longer to check their marks as well as the merit list. however, several institutes are claiming to have their students as the top-ranking candidate. These assumptions are based on the final answer key. The final answer key is out and students can calculate their estimated marks based on that.
The Minister of Education Ramesh Pokhriyal has twice said that the NEET result will be declared today. He, however, did not mention the exact time. The NTA website is also displaying "soon" without mentioning the exact time. NEET was earlier expected to be released on October 12 but was then delayed as the NEET phase II exam was held for those who missed it at the first attempt due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The JEE Main result too was delayed around midnight and hence, now the same is being expected for NEET result 2020 as well.
While every student who gets 50 percentile and above score is considered pass, admissions are given based on the merit list. Each college will have its own cut-off. Experts believe due to the extra time being available due to delay in the exam due to the pandemic, the marks obtained by students can go higher. This year, there was a rise in the number of applicants as well. Those who used to skip NEET for AIIMS or JIPMER also appeared for it this year as NEET has become a single exam for admissions to medical, dental and allied sciences courses.
The National Testing Agency, NTA will announce the result of NEET exam shortly, according to the website. The result will be available at nta.ac.in, ntaneet.nic.in
