Actor Anubhav Mohanty has taken a pledge to donate his eyes after his death. The Kendrapara MP took the pledge on the occasion of the 75th birthday of chief minister Naveen Patnaik today.
Announcing his decision through a social media post, the actor urged people to come forward to donate their blood, plasma and body parts to those who need them. “In my life, I have always loved my parents. After them, I revere our chief minister the most. His 75th birthday is the perfect moment for me to celebrate by taking such a pledge. I’ll donate my eye for someone to see the world and smile forever,” he said.
Showing apprehension that his decision might be difficult for his family and near and dear ones, he said that humans can’t give life to others but can donate organs to save a life or help someone enjoy his life better. “If we want, we can help others just by donating our body parts after our death. I would urge people to pledge together to save lives by donating plasma, blood and organs to help someone see this beautiful world and enjoy life,” he said.
