Virtual foundation stone laying ceremony for office residential accommodation & transit facility in Chandigarh

Chandigarh, Oct 16 (UNI) Mri.Sanjiv Mittal, IDAS, Controller General of Defence Accounts (CGDA), laid the foundation stone for Office, Residential Accommodation & Transit Facility: LAO (A) & DPDO Amritsar, Office & Residential Accommodation: ALAO (A) & DPDO Kapurthala, Residential Accommodation: Defence Accounts Department, Yol. Friday in a virtual ceremony organised at PCDA (WC) Sector -9 Chandigarh.

Adopting the new normal in the prevailing pandemic conditions and to adopt latest technologies and to bring overall efficiency and economy to operations the ceremony was organised virtually. The Chief Guest ShriSanjiv Mittal, IDAS,CGDA, attended the function virtually from Delhi. Sh. D.R. Negi, IDAS, PCDA (Western Command) &other senior officers of Defence Accounts Department attended from Chandigarh. The ceremony was also attended by the representatives of MES from Amritsar, Kapurthala and Yol.

The residential buildings are being constructed for providing accommodation to full DAD working at Amritsar, Kapurthala and Yol.The office building at Amritsar and Kapurthala will help to provide better services to the Army units under the jurisdiction of these offices as well as better facilities to the pensioners under the jurisdiction of DPDOs.The three buildings are being constructed at a total cost of Rs. 14.42 Crores.
After construction of new building and provision of basic infrastructure and amenities, these officesviz. LAO & DPDO will be in a position to work more efficiently and accordingly, productive results could be achieved by bringing best services to the Armed Forces and pensioners in a time bound manner.
