An evocative fashion film by Rajesh Pratap Singh opened the digital edition of Lotus Make-Up India Fashion Week spring/summer 2021. With the use of large oxygen cylinders as props, the designer presented his fall collection titled ‘Fall. ing. 2020’, that emphasised on pastel hues and an extensive use of hand block printing techniques. The lineup featured a mix of functional dresses, silk jackets, dhoti pants, along with colour-blocked festive ensembles and block printed kurtas. Heads up: The cylinders are available for sale through To India, With Love, with the proceeds going to charity. More information here.

Through Chanderi silk jackets and dresses constructed with signature cord work, designer Vaishali S built on the concept of revival for her spring/summer 2021 collection. Titled 'Rebirth', the line draws inspiration from the resurgence of a new world, presented through a fashion film shot in Milan. Paying homage to the weavers her lineup featured crop tops, statement blouses, trousers and dresses that came with intricate detailing.
Day 1 of Lotus Make-Up India Fashion Week spring/summer 2021 came to a close with Namrata Joshipura's show. The designer, who's known for her party-ready ensembles, showcased a lineup that had an ample number of eye-catching outfits. Embellished sports bras, pearl-encrusted blazers and shiny slip dresses dominated the lineup designed to make an impact. And what better way to give the line a fun spin than with unexpected accessories like neon sunglasses and hats?
