
South Africa recorded 123 more Covid-19 related deaths by Wednesday, bringing the death toll to 18 151.
The fatalities have been reported in the following provinces: 44 in the Eastern Cape, 14 in the Free State, 17 in KwaZulu-Natal, 35 in Gauteng, eight in North West and five in the Western Cape.
"We extend our condolences to the loved ones of the departed and thank the healthcare workers that treated the deceased patients," Health Minister Zweli Mkhize said in a statement on Wednesday evening.

The cumulative number of tests conducted to date is 4 458 745, with 24 793 new tests conducted since the last report.
Recoveries now stand at 626 898, which translates to a recovery rate of 90%.
