Patna, Oct 15 (UNI) Working president of Bihar JD(U) Ashok Chaudhary today slammed LJP president Chirag Paswan for criticising Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and dubbed it as a classic example of political opportunism.
Mr Chaudhary told media persons here that Mr Paswan had taken Mr Kumar to his constituency Jumui to campaign in his support during last Lok Sabha elections in 2019. In last Delhi Assembly
Elections, Mr Paswan had profusely appreciated seven resolves and 'Jal Jeevan
Hariyali Mission' of Nitish Kumar government, he added.
Mr Chaudhary said that Mr Paswan should clarify the reason behind change in his views about Mr Kumar since last Delhi Assembly elections. It was a clear case of political opportunism, he remarked.
Meanwhile, Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and senior BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi said Mr Paswan led LJP was not part of NDA in Bihar. There was no alliance with LJP and he had nothing to do with what Mr Paswan was talking about, he added.
Mr Modi said that there had been several examples in the past when BJP and other political parties were in Alliance in a particular state but contesting elections separately in other state.
Shiv Sena and BJP were running coalition government in Maharashtra but Shiv Sena had then contested against BJP in Gujarat assembly elections, he remarked.
