332 new COVID-19 cases detected in state

Three hundred thirty two new COVID-19 positive cases were reported in the state on Thursday, taking the total number of confirmed positive cases to 39,770.

Whereas, 430 more patients have recovered from the dreaded infection during the last 24 hours.

So far, 35,161 people, who were infected with the coronavirus, have recovered, at the recovery rate of 88.41 per cent.

According to the media bulletin released by the Directorate of Health Services on Thursday, presently, the number of active positive cases stands at 4,084.

It is further stated that 1,582 swab samples were tested on Thursday, and 173 more asymptomatic patients  opted for home isolation, and 41 symptomatic patients were admitted in hospitals during the last 24 hours.

With six more deaths, registered during the last 24 hours, the death toll linked to COVID-19 reached 525.

Currently, active positive cases under the jurisdictions of urban health centres stand as follows: Margao – 287, Vasco -222, Panaji – 214 and Mapusa – 235.

Whereas the active positive cases under the jurisdictions of community health centres are as follows: Sankhali 199, Bicholim – 102, Pernem -107, Valpoi -119, Curchorem -120 and Canacona -110.

And, the active positive cases under the jurisdictions of primary health centres stand as follows: Porvorim – 291, Aldona – 95, Betki – 92, Candolim -183, Cansarvanem – 35, Colvale – 91, Corlim -111, Chimbel – 263, Siolim -129,  Mayem – 28, Balli – 54, Cansaulim – 65, Chinchinim – 20, Cortalim -182, Curtorim – 81, Loutolim – 64, Marcaim – 66, Quepem – 77, Sanguem – 49, Shiroda -47, Dharbandora – 37, Ponda – 240 and Navelim – 66.

Three travelers to the state are also among the active positive patients.

The health bulletin also stated that in North Goa, out of the total bed capacity of 469, currently 215 are vacant, and in South Goa, out of 1,006 beds, 718 are vacant in various COVID care centres.
