Over 1500 rendered jobless after Sunbeam Jute Mill shuts gate

Barrackpore, Oct 15 (UNI) Over 1500 workers were today rendered jobless after the management of
Sunbeam Jute mill at Titagarh in North 24 Parganas shut the main gate stopping the workers from joining the morning shift from 6 am .
The jute mill was having some problems for some weeks over the demand of pending payment and bonus , but the management without citing any reason locked the main gate and stopped
the workers from joining the day's duty, alleged the agitating workers, who blocked the busy BT Road.
Industrial Titagarh in the Barrackpore region has been witnessing trouble since 2019 Lok Sabha poll and recent murder of BJP leader Manish Shukla, the sudden lockdown of Sunbeam jute mill would create trouble in the region in these festival months, opined the elder people of the area.
