Assam class 10 state board exams in March 2021, says Seba chairman
Usually, regular classes for Class 10 board examinees come to an end by November as the students go in for self-study after that. However, owing to academic losses because of the pandemic, offline classes will continue till February this year, Jain said.

GUWAHATI: Class 10 state board exams will be held in March 2021, Board of Secondary Education, Assam (Seba), chairman, RC Jain informed.
With Seba already having curtailed syllabus for Class 9 and 10 students by 30%, he told TOI that it has no plans of further postponing the exam. The Class 10 state board exams usually begin in February. On the lines of the CBSE, which is going ahead with online filling up of the forms, Seba too has notified that online forms for High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) and Assam High Madrassa (AHM) examinations can be filled up from November 2 to 23.
“The upcoming Class 10 state board exams in Assam will be held on time. Like the CBSE, we have also decided to accept the forms digitally,” Jain said. He added that the Covid-19 situation is being carefully monitored by the board to apply suitable methodologies to conduct the exams. Over 3.5 lakh students appeared in the Class 10 state board exams this year.

Though some of the guardians are still skeptical about sending their children to schools, teachers have urged the education board to conduct the exams on time.
“We want the board exams on time, without much delay. Since much of the course has been reduced, we want the board exams to happen on time,” Gobinda Kalita, general secretary of the Assam Madhyamik Shikshak Aru Karmachari Santha, said.
