Telangana reports 1,446 fresh COVID-19 positive cases, eight deaths till Tuesday night

Hyderabad, Oct 14 (UNI) With 1,446 new Coronavirus positive cases recorded till 2000 hours on Tuesday, Telangana's COVID-19 case count reached 2,16,238 so far.
The COVID-19 deaths in the state rose to 1,241 till date with eight more patients succumbing to the contagious virus constituting a case fatality rate of 0.57 per cent as against the countrywide mortality of 1.5 per cent, a state health department bulletin said on Wednesday.
A total of 1,918 patients had recovered from Coronavirus between Monday and Tuesday pushing the cumulative number of recoveries to 1,91,269 translating into a recovery rate of 88.45 per cent while the National average was 87 per cent.
During the last 24 hours, 40,056 swab samples of people to detect the virus had been tested out and of which the reports of 1,049 swab samples were awaited, the bulletin said.
The number of active cases in the state now stood at 23,728.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation limits remained the top contributor of positive cases by reporting 252 fresh cases while Rangara Reddy and Medchal Malkajigiri districts recorded135 and 131 cases respectively.
The other districts reported the remaining positive cases, the bulletin added
