Sindri: A gang of 10-12 armed robbers entered the vacant home of Himachal Pradesh’s ADGP Atul Verma, barely a kilometre from the Dhanbad SSP’s residence, on Monday night and escaped with valuables worth lakhs. Sources said the house was vacant and only two guards were present when the incident took place.
All the robbers had their faces covered and they also covered the CCTV camera the moment they reached the home. Surprisingly, the gang came on foot, stayed in the house for two hours and left on foot while there was no police patrolling in the VVIP area on Luby Circular Road.
Sanjiv Tiwari, inspector in-charge of Dhanbad PS, said, “The house has been vacant for more than a year since the death of Dr P N Verma, the ADGP’s father. The robbers were armed and they tied up the guards with a gamchha and locked them inside their cabin.” tnn
