HYDERABAD: Eight persons died after a compound wall collapsed on two houses in Ghousenagar of Chandrayamagutta police station limits in Hyderabad due to incessant rains.
One more person is injured and is being treated at a hospital. As the huge compound wall collapsed, five of a family and three of the neighbouring family died. Chandrayanagutta police booked FIR with crime number 490/2020 under Section 304(A), 337 IPC for Negligent Act leading to death and injury against the compound wall owner regarding the mishap. On Wednesday around 1.00am, police received a complaint from Mohammed Nawaz Haqni, son of Mohd Jahangir a resident of Ghouse Nagar in Hyderabad's Bandalaguda.
In the complaint, Mohammed alleged that on Tuesday he along with his two brothers identified as Samad, Subbhani and his Father Mohd Jahangir and four sisters -- Sabhiyanaaz, Fouzia, Anees, Amreen and their children were in the house. After he heard a sound, he came and saw that the boundary wall which is situated back side of house, collapsed and fell on his and also on his neighbor's house. Both the houses were covered by asbestos sheets.
The deceased were identified as Samad Rabbani (35) and his wife Saba Hashmi (26), Fouzia Naaz, and her two sons Syed Zain (3) and Zohaid, 19-day-old infant. All the victims died on the spot. Another woman, aged about 31 years, received serious bleeding injuries.
The complainant said, "In my neighbours house, Zakira Begum, aged about 50 years and Siddiq’s children Syed Sadeq, aged about one year, Syeda Anwari, aged about 3 years, also died on the spot. The owner of the boundary wall failed to take any precautionary measures while constructing the wall and due to his negligence the wall fell on our houses and resulted in death of eight persons."
