LUCKNOW: Outdoor patients department (OPD) services will resume in King George’s Medical University (KGMU) from October 19, but with some restrictions.
All departments will run OPDs on all weekdays from 9am to 2pm, but take only 50 patients daily, while superspeciality department OPDs will run on alternate days.
The OPD of the cardiology department will be at the new OPD building. The OPDs of orthopaedic, paediatrics orthopaedics, sports medicine, physical medical and rheumatology will be in the old OPD block as RALC building is now a Covid hospital.
The OPDs of obstetrics and gynaecology, cardiovascular and thoracic surgery, psychiatry and respiratory medicine will run in their respective departments.
The OPD of Geriatric Mental Health department, which has been converted into a triage area, will also be held in the psychiatry department. Patients with negative reports of Covid-19 tests done through the RT-PCR method within three days of the appointment will be given priority. Such patients will have to bring an identity proof with them for verification of the report. The appointment will be given in three slots — 9am-11am, 11am-1pm and 1pm-2pm. “We will increase the number of patients if Covid-19 cases go on decreasing,” said chief medical superintendent Prof SN Shankhwar.
